4 Years of Wedded Bliss

The past four years have been a wonderful adventure and a bit of a whirlwind of significant life events.

Here are the major highlights Clayton and I have shared since we said "I do":

1. We both graduated college with Bachelor's degrees.
2.We both got our first "real" jobs.
3. We purchased our first home.
4. We got a puppy.
5. We had a precious baby boy.  <3
6. I started a photography business.
7. We got another puppy. (What were we thinking?!?)
8. Clayton started and finished his Master's degree. (He worked incredibly hard, got very little sleep and I'm SO proud of him!)
9. I quit work to be a stay at home mom and focus on my photo business.
10. We had another precious baby boy. <3

Clayton, it's been a wild ride thus far and I can't imagine having done any of it without you. I certainly couldn't ask for a better husband or a more amazing father for our children. I'm so blessed to have you and I'm looking forward to many, many more great adventures together. Happy anniversary, My Love.

A Little Baby Love

I can't believe Owen turned 5 weeks old yesterday. Time is flying and I'm trying to soak up every precious minute.

Caleb helped me take a few pics today. He's such a good helper. :)

It's the little things...

This made me smile today.

Caleb was eating a snack (some peanuts in a little bowl) and I was downstairs putting a load of laundry in. I came back up and was picking up things around the house, and a little while later I happened to look in the sink and see this:

While this might not seem like a big deal to most, for an almost three year old, IT SO IS! The fact that he didn't leave the bowl in the middle of the living room floor or sitting on the ottoman is huge. Add to that the fact that it's placed so perfectly and so neatly in the center of the sink AND that I've been working really hard to keep our house clean... it melted my heart.

I have the two best kids ever. <3

Love this:

The Shark 2 in 1 Vac Then Steam Mop. I recently bought one of these and I LOVE it.

With hardwood and tile floors throughout my house, two dogs and two kids, this little baby is such a time saver. I love that it is small, lightweight, and that I only need one machine to both vacuum and mop. The steam mop sanitizes and also dries almost instantly so I don't have to worry about Caleb slipping and falling on a wet floor.

The other awesome part: Caleb thinks I bought this for his own personal amusement and runs around the house like I'm chasing him while I use it. When the steam function is on, he runs from me yelling "Aaaaah SMOKE!" It's a cleaning appliance and priceless entertainment for toddlers all in one! ;)

Making New Habits and Routines

I'm still settling into this whole "stay at home mom with two kids" thing and we're slowly starting to get into the swing of things.

In between feeding, burping, washing bottles, changing diapers, building train tracks, reading 18 Dr. Seuss books, and the occasional cup of coffee, I'm slowly trying to get my house in order after several months of major neglect. I've been feeling really inspired in the cleaning department lately and I hope I can keep it up. I started using this website to start building new habits for keeping a clean and de-cluttered house. The website is a little confusing to navigate at first, but once you get it figured out, this lady is basically a personal trainer for house cleaning (which I desperately need). She's all about taking baby steps and making habits and routines out of them. It's only been a week, but so far so good. I'd highly recommend her and Clayton is also thrilled with the transformation already. Athough I will warn you, she isn't joking when she says she sends out a LOT of emails. I just delete the ones that don't interest me though. No biggie.

Other than that, we're just enjoying the boys and this phase of our life right now. I really don't know if we've ever been this happy. We're feeling incredibly blessed for so many reasons. :)

PS - Owen is 5 weeks old today. He's getting so big so fast! I can't believe it!!

Caleb the Comedian

Caleb started telling me jokes the other day. Here's my favorite:

C: knock knock
Me: Who's there?
C: Johnny Cash

The end.
Some people don't get him, but I think he's hilarious. :)
