A new year, a new "job" and a new blog. It just seems fitting. Today was my first day as a stay-at-home mom and I thought this would be a good way keep track of some of the highlights (and disasters) that come with the territory.
Being horribly uncomfortable at eight months pregnant on top of being sick with a horrendous cold made for a less than exciting first day to say the least. However, it was nice to get up and not have to rush around to get Caleb ready and out into the cold. He woke up fairly early and cuddled on the couch with me for a bit. After a couple of minutes he started to get down and I when I asked him where he was going, he said (very matter of factly) "to wake Daddy up." It was so sweet and I felt so bad that he had no idea that daddy had already left for work. He was quite upset when he found out but after a call to say hi to daddy at work, he calmed down pretty quickly. Crisis averted. :)
Most of the day was pretty uneventful. I washed some baby clothes and did a little organizing. I was moving clothes around and Caleb said "Mommy, I want to help you." He's so sweet. So I let him carry some clothes and help me put them away. :)
With me staying home everyday, one of the major adjustments for Caleb will be not getting to spend as much time at his Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house. When I was working, he went there every Monday and anytime he was sick and unable to go to daycare (which was a LOT). He absolutely loves going to his grandparent's house and playing with his cousin, so I'm a little nervous for him to realize that he won't get to go over there on such a regular basis. We made it until about 10 am this morning before he mentioned it. He was playing with his new fishing game and told me he wanted to take his game and play it at Mawmaw's house.
Favorite Moment Today: Caleb and I sat down to eat waffles and after a few bites, Caleb said "Mom, we didn't want to say our prayers?" I told him I forgot and asked if he wanted to pray and he nodded yes. He folded his little hands and we prayed and then he enthusiastically yelled "AMEN!" at the end. <3
